The Atkinson Chamber of Commerce, the Atkinson Development Corporation, and the City of Atkinson work together to develop the local economy.
The Atkinson Development Corporation is a for-profit corporation organized in 1970. It is comprised of more than 40 stockholders. Principal assets are certificates of deposit and loans to local business.

The City of Atkinson, along with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, has been able to help arrange block grant funds to help with certain business projects. For more information, contact Lou Ann Tooker at (402) 925-5313.
Industrial site locations are available in a 16 acre tract on East U.S. Highway 20 and there are also other larger tracts that could be utilized.
