City of Atkinson Seeking Full-Time Police Officers
Full-Time Police Officer
The City of Atkinson, Nebraska, is currently accepting applications for full-time police officers. Atkinson is along Historic Highway 20 in Holt County and is the heart of the Great Nebraska Sandhills. Atkinson sits on th west end of Holt County and has great Hunting and Fishing in the County for the outdoorsman type, and is about 40 minutes south of the Missouri River and Fort Randall Dam. Atkinson has a population of about 1400 residents and is a family friendly atmosphere.
Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, have a valid Nebraska driver’s license, be of good moral character with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, and be in good physical condition.
Certified law enforcement officers are preferred but all applications will be considered. Non-certified applicants must meet admission requirements for the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center P.R.E.T. assessment, before a conditional job offer can be made. Atkinson would be a good place to start your law enforcement career if just starting out.
Applicants must be willing to work a variety of shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Pay rate is dependent on education, qualifications, training, and experience.
