Wondering what to do this summer without leaving home? Why not take the time to visit some of the interesting places in the West Holt area. The Atkinson Graphic will be doing a summer long series of interesting events and places to visit in Stuart and Atkinson without leaving home for more than a day.

First off is the "wings" project, the brainchild of Megan Mitchell, where 12 different artworks with wings are painted on the sides of buildings. Most of these paintings are on building sides located in alleys or on buildings alongside major city streets. Stand inside the wings and have an individual or group picture taken. Post your picture with the following hashtag #liftatkinson.
Paintings were by Megan Mitchell (four paintings), her children, Daphne, Calla and Paisley, Gracie Beddow, Tracy Larson, Ian Larson Maddie Davis, Braydon Olson, Cheryl Cambras, Becky Borer, Laurie Lieswald, Sandy Kennedy, Sandy Dostal, Diane Tasler and Jan Roberts.

Later, take a rest in the giant chair painted in the town's school colors blue and yellow located on East State Street between The Atkinson Graphic and the Keating Arts Center. The chair was designed, constructed, and painted by West Holt High School Senior Channing Ogden.
