Atkinson/Stuart Blood Drive Set For Aug. 16

West Holt Medical Services and the Atkinson/Stuart community is gearing up for its next blood drive, scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 16 at the Stuart Auditorium from 10:35 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. Scheduling your donations is encouraged.

The event is being organized by LifeServe Blood Center, and they are hoping to get as many people as possible to donate blood. The blood collected by LifeServe Blood Center is provided to local hospitals, which means that your donation could help save the life of a neighbor, friend, family member, or even a stranger in your own community.

Blood donation is extremely important this time of year, due to what many physicians refer to as “Trauma Season” when the need for blood products increases as schools close and temperatures rise.

Since the beginning of 2023, 100% of the blood products needed at West Holt Memorial Hospital and the surrounding area hospitals now come from LifeServe blood donors. The strength of the community blood supply is dependent on local donors, businesses and organizations that donate and sponsor blood drives with LifeServe Blood Center.

To ensure West Holt Memorial Hospital and its patients have the blood products they need, the community is hosting a blood drive in June. LifeServe Blood Center and West Holt Medical Services are urging the community to boost the blood supply for local patients at this upcoming blood drive. Your donation will ensure those in your community in need of lifesaving blood products will receive them at a moment’s notice.
